Homework: November 29th: Work on spelling. Write the definitions in your own words for 1/2 of your words. Reading Log: Read for 20 minutes and write a reading log response: Practice reciting your Google Earth Tour to facilitate the recording process.

NOVEMBER 29TH:
Math: We looked at reducing fractions as a way to find equivalent fractions. We are also working on finding benchmark fractions to make comparisons.
Language Arts: We are finishing up our bullying video filming. We will begin poetry next.
Social Studies: Many studenst have finished and began presenting Google Tours. All tours must be done by Thursday. This needs to be completed at school.
Science: More information regarding digestion.

Language Arts: After viewing the video students have been asked to reflect upon two of our literature responses and write two paragraphs with their thoughts. This will be in place of reading logs for tonight.

Which character from the story do you identify with the most? Remember to consider personality and values not physical traits.
Spelling: Create your new spelling list. Use misspelled words from the reading log or science vocab.

Math: Students are continuing to work on fractions. We are exploring a variety of ways to find fractions between fractions. This concepts requires a transfer of knowledge about equivalent fractions. They are also working on improper fractions and mixed numbers.
Language Arts: Today we watched Friendships Fields a film about migrant workers coming from Mexico. This video ties in to our bullying curriculum. We will continue a discussion about the various roles of bullying that were addressed in the film.
Social Studies: The film also lent itself to a discussion about culture. In the video the boy Oskar explains to Ira that cemeteries are not places of fear.
